Anthelmintic activity of Moringa oleifera and Azadirachta indica against gastrointestinal nematodes of wild sheep

چکیده
Gastrointestinal nematodes (GINs) are serious issue for health of wild sheep kept in captivity. Chemically synthesized anthelmintics regularly used to control these parasites. In recent years anthelmintic resistance and remnant drugs animal products leads use medicinal plants as alternative anthelmintics. current study, the efficacy aqueous, methanolic ethanolic dried leaf extracts Moringa oleifera Azadirachta indica were tested vitro ovicidal larvicidal activities against Haemonchus, Trichuris, Coccidia Trichostrongylus; naturally acquired isolated from (Ovis orientalis orientalis). Six concentrations extract (1.56, 3.13, 6.25, 12.5, 25 50 mg/ml) evaluated using egg hatching assay (EHA) larval development (LDA) three replicates. To compare treatment effects, untreated treated (0.1% ivermectin) controls used. The showed genera but inhibition was maximum (99%) ethanol M. followed by methanol (97%) at concentration (50mg/ml). overall findings this study shows that possess significant GINs could be a natural synthetic treat worm infections animals.

Anthelmintic activity of Indigofera tinctoria against gastrointestinal nematodes of sheep
AIM Gastrointestinal (GI) nematodes are considered as a major constraint for successful sheep production. Control of these parasites heavily relies on the use of chemical anthelmintics. Over the past decades, the development of anthelmintic resistance to various groups of anthelmintics and problem of drug residues in animal products has awakened interest in medicinal plants as an alternative so...

Weight loss, stunted growth, and death caused by gastrointestinal parasites are major constraints to livestock productivity, especially in tropical and developing countries where regular use, and misuse, of anthelmintics has led to nematode resistance. Albizia anthelmintica Brong. (Fabaceae) is traditionally employed throughout East Africa to treat helminth parasitosis in livestock. Reported ef...

The control of parasitic diseases in small ruminants is mainly done with the use of synthetic anthelmintics. However, incorrect and indiscriminate use of these products has caused the emergence of parasite resistance. Plants with anthelmintic activity are used in folk veterinary medicine, but it is necessary to investigate and scientifically validate low-cost phytotherapeutic alternatives for f...

AIM The present investigation has been conducted to evaluate the hepatoprotective activity of Moringa oleifera against cadmium-induced toxicity in rats. MATERIALS AND METHODS For this study, 18 Wistar albino rats were taken. Control group, Group I rats were given cadmium chloride @ 200 ppm per kg and Group II rats were treated with M. oleifera extract @ 500 mg/kg along with cadmium chloride @...
متن کاملAnthelmintic Activity of Essential Oils of Cymbopogan Nardus and Azadirachta Indica on Fasciola Gigantica
The efficacy of essential oils of Cymbopogan nardus (citronella) and Azadirachta indica (neem) on Fasciola gigantica was assessed in vitro. The essential oil of citronella showed a potential anthelmintic activity whereas neem oil did not show any significant effect. Study revealed that 1% citronella oil showed anthelmintic effect on live Fasciola gigantica. The in vitro anthelmintic effect was ...
